WINE AND MARBLE ROUTE
Bicycle ride from the Estate to Estremoz, return trip.
The route starts among the marble quarries, an imposing landscape that makes you feel like you’re walking on the Moon or on Mars. If it is a week day, make the most of this time to observe the men working in the quarry.
In Vila Viçosa discover how this rock is marvellously applied in houses and manor houses, churches, royal residences and palaces. Visit the Marble Museum and then go on to Borba. Here you will find typical taverns, with a party atmosphere. “Larga a Velha” is one such tavern. Don’t miss a get-together! Next go through the oak grove using side roads until you reach Arcos, a small quaint village where you should also visit “António dos Potes”. Also visit Glória and make a detour to Estremoz, which is not to be missed. Try a wine in Quinta do Carmo and go back in time for the evening in Monte Branco.
THROUGH HILLS AND VALLEYS IN SERRA D'OSSA
A jeep ride in this area had to be in Serra d'Ossa. Breathtaking firebreaks, stunning views and equally beautiful valleys. On the way visit the lovely Convento de São Paulo / Saint Paul Convent, a hidden dolmen and Vila do Redondo where you can visit a wine museum and a pottery house. If there is time you can also visit a quarry.

LIKE FISH IN WATER
We will discover a stretch of the Degebe river in the calm water of the dam of Moinho do Alcaide, or stroll near the beautiful reservoir of the Divor dam. Start on a canoe, with the company of birds of prey, herons, ducks and storks as company.
After a tasty snack to regain strength, go on a walk along the banks where rabbits, hares and partridges co-exist freely with herds of sheep and placid cows. It’s time for complete communion with nature, ideal for those searching for peace and quiet.
